Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This policy explains what information The Lean Landlord, LLC collects through vaoptional.com and the VA Optional course, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email stephanie@theleanlandlord.com and we'll answer.

01

Who We Are

The Lean Landlord, LLC is a Connecticut limited liability company. It runs vaoptional.com and sells VA Optional. You can reach us at stephanie@theleanlandlord.com.

02

What We Collect

When you fill in a form on this site, we collect what you give us. Depending on the form, that can include your name and email address, phone number, details about your business and your current virtual assistant arrangement, how you heard about us, and anything else you choose to type in.

When you buy, Stripe handles your payment. We receive confirmation of the purchase and your billing contact details. We never receive or store your full card number.

When you have a course account, we hold your login email and password, and we track your progress through the course, such as which lessons you've completed. We never see or read your password.

When you use your support hour, the call can run on Zoom, Google Meet or Slack. We see what you tell us and anything you choose to show us on screen during the call.

When you join the Slack community, Slack holds your name, profile and anything you post. Other members can see what you post there.

When you refer someone, Stripe records that the purchase came through your link, what the buyer paid and what we owe you. You can see how much you've sold through your link.

We also collect some technical information automatically when you visit:

  • Referral and campaign details from the link you arrived on, including UTM parameters.
  • Standard analytics data through Google Analytics, including approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed and time spent on them.

03

What We Don't See

The agents and automations you build in VA Optional run inside your own accounts, such as your own Claude and Airtable. We send you the course material, skills and updates. We don't have access to what your systems handle, so we don't see your emails, your clients, your tenants or your documents. The one exception is anything you choose to show us during a support call.

04

Cookies and Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to understand how visitors use the site. It tells us which pages people read and where visitors come from. It doesn't tell us who you are.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google also offers an opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking analytics cookies won't stop you using the site.

05

Why We Use It

  • To deliver what you buy, including your course access, your Airtable hub, your support hour and, if you subscribe, your updates.
  • To run your subscription, including billing and the yearly renewal reminder.
  • To pay referral commissions.
  • To respond when you get in touch.
  • To send you information about VA Optional and other things we make.
  • To understand which parts of the site are useful and which aren't.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations.

06

How We May Use What You Share

We may quote or describe things you share in Slack, on calls or in feedback, in our marketing and in course content. We will never use your name or your photo.

07

Who We Share It With

We don't and never will sell your information. We don't rent it or trade it either.

We share it with the services that run VA Optional:

  • Lovable, which hosts vaoptional.com and the course, including your login.
  • Supabase, where form submissions are stored.
  • Stripe, which processes payments and tracks referrals.
  • GoHighLevel, which sends the emails you receive from us.
  • Slack, which hosts the community.
  • Zoom and Google Meet, which we use for support calls.
  • Google Analytics, which measures how the site is used.

Each of these handles your information under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

08

How Long We Keep It

We keep your account and purchase information for as long as you have access to VA Optional. We keep contact information for as long as you're on our email list, and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Purchase and tax records we're required to keep for longer.

If you ask us to delete your information, we'll do it, except for records the law requires us to keep. Deleting your information also closes your course account.

Messages in the Slack community are deleted automatically 90 days after they're posted, whether or not you're still a member.

09

Your Choices

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off the list. You'll still get emails about your purchase and your subscription, such as the yearly renewal reminder.

You can also email stephanie@theleanlandlord.com at any time to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

10

Visitors Outside the United States

We operate from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there. If you're in a country with different data protection rules, submitting a form means you understand your information will be handled under US law. If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region that gives you specific data rights, email us and we'll honor those rights.

11

Children

VA Optional is for adults running businesses. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

12

Security

We use reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to protect what we hold. No system online is completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security, and we won't pretend otherwise.

13

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. We'll flag material changes to customers and to anyone on our email list.
